Shakthi Varam
Shakthi FM,the No1 Tamil Radio station have completed its VARAM campaign successfully for the second time by floating all around Sri-Lanka and Making the Shakthi FM listeners happy by showering them with lots of gifts.
Shakthi's Kubera Varam was a huge hit this year as well as last year when we conducted it for the first time.
The Varam team went all over the Island and Conducted DJ Shows and had a very nice time together with our listeners. The Varam team didn't fail also to reach the inner parts of our target areas.
The Varam campaign also ran successfully On Air with the leadership of Kuberan. Kuberan was a funny gift showering character who came on air in between our daily programs. The listeners were asked note down the time when Kuberan came on air and send to us. We received a large number of response from our listneres for this & the winners of this will be announced shortly.
Ramzan
Shakthi Fm,the No1 Tamil Radio station have completed its Ramazan special segment for the first time in the radio History,by covering all over the Island during the 30 days of Ramazan.
The Shakthi FM team was glad to meet around 30000 listeners in different Mosques during the 30 days of Ramazan.
Ifthar special program was started in every Mosque with an introduction about the particular Mosque's antiquities and history.
During these days Islamic thoughts were on aired in Shakthi Fm in the own voice cuts of the Moulavies & religious heads.
Before this No Government or Private radio station has done such a special program for ramazan and this has helped us to reach our Islamic community faster and it is a great achievement in our history.
Not only the Ifthar program but also the Sahar special segment was on aired in Shakthi Fm from 4 to 5 every morning including the har thoughts .
As another successful event we also conducted an essay competition named as MUZABZKATHUR RAMAZAN where we distributed amazing gifts to the winners, which was another great hit.
On the day of ramazan we had the live Ramazan prayer and Huthuba preaching broadcasted on Shakthi Fm from morning 7.30 to 9.00.
The Ramazan program was a huge success for us and we are proud of it.

Nallur is the major highlight of cultural and religious activities of Jaffna.
The historical Nallur festival is the largest festival in Sri-Lanka, where thousands of devotees all around Sri-Lanka gathers together.
Shakthi Fm,the No1 Tamil Radio station joined the Nallur Devotees to celebrate the Nallur Festival live from Jaffna for the second time.
More than 10 lakh(1000000) devotees were gathered at the Holy Land of Nallur to worship Lord Muruga and to praise him for the glories received.
Shakthi Fm was proud to meet the Tamil Community goatherd at Jaffna during 21 August 2011 to 27 August 2011.We are glad to say that all seven days were filled with exciting moments and full of entertainment with Island-wide and International Tamil Community who visited us and made us proud.
The Shakthi Fm team successfully conducted,Special competitions and handed gifts for the winners on the spot..
Our 'Kubera Valam' was another huge event where kuberan unexpectedly visited most part in jaffna, met the listeners and surprised them with cash rewards.
As an eye catching event we made a 20 feet Murugan statue top of our special studio which was located at Paruththithurai Road, Nallur, Jaffna.
In such a way the event was successfully completed with happiness and entertainment.

Thiruketheeswara
Manar
Thirukethiswaram is an ancient Hindu temple in Manthota, about seven miles north of the Mannar Town. This temple dedicated to the worship of the God Siva has been the most venerated for centuries and the holy waters of the Palavi Tank by its side are venerated in the sacred hymns of two great Saivite saints, Thirugnana Sambandhar and Sundarar, who lived in the 7th and 8th Centuries respectively. This is one of the five main kovils scattered around the country dedicated to God Siva.
Shakthi FM has done a to promote Thirukethiswaram temple and Mannar. The song sung by the famous South Indian singer S. P. Balasubramaniam and composed by Satyan Mahalingam. The album also contain a speech about the region and the specialty of the temple.
Shakthi FM had provided media partnership for all the cultural & religious events take place at Thirukethiswaram temple during the annual festival. We have also put road distance boards at every 5kms from Madaachchiya to Thiruketheeswaram temple and the Town entrance boards to guide the passengers. To promote the festival we have used cotton pennants, program leaflets distribution, Stickers and channel merchandises during the festival season.
